Based in the heart of the midlands seafood has been our first love since we opened in early 1993 and continues to be till this day.
Our Fish & Shellfish are sourced from reputable suppliers such as M&J Seafoods and Direct Seafoods both who share our strong policy of sourcing sustainable products . Our lobster is kept live on site in specifically adapted water tanks enabling us to have the freshest product available, something most restaurants offering the same produce cannot boast.
Fish is delivered to us daily from the fish markets, we want it fresh so you get it fresh.
A common misconception is 'that we only do fish', not so, we have always offered a range of dishes based on traditional cuts of meat suppled by local butcher Joseph Morris, a traditional quality butchers and family business established back in 1930.
The restaurant is privately owned, overlooks a fishing lake and is surrounded with widlife, on arrival its not unusual for you to have to negotiate the resident ducks and wild rabbits.
The buildings' origins date back over 200 years and its outset was that of a granary belonging to the monks of Coombe Abbey.
To this day, Barnacles continues the tradition of providing its customers with excellent food & service in a comfortable atmosphere.
